Chuzenji
Beautiful view
Last days of Koyo in Oku Nikko!
Today is a sunny, beautiful day. Enjoy the last days of Autumn leaves in Oku Nikko area, for example around Chuzenji Lake area and the famous Kegon Falls.
To get there, take the Tobu bus from JR or Tobu Nikko station for Chuzenji Onsen, and get off at “Chuzenji Onsen” bus stop. It is an approximate 50-minute ride, and then walk about 5 minutes to Kegon Falls.
Lago Chuzenji
British Embassy Villa Memorial Park
The British Embassy Villa Memorial Park is on the shore of Lake Chuzenji, which used to be an international summer resort because the embassies and many foreigners built their villas in the area.
This dark wooden building, which served as the British Embassy’s second home from 1896 to 2008, offers a museum tour giving an overview of the site.
On the second floor there is beautiful tea room, where a set of scones and tea supervised by the British Embassy chef is served, and you can enjoy it while contemplating the lake from the panoramic veranda.
