Today is a sunny, beautiful day. Enjoy the last days of Autumn leaves in Oku Nikko area, for example around Chuzenji Lake area and the famous Kegon Falls.
To get there, take the Tobu bus from JR or Tobu Nikko station for Chuzenji Onsen, and get off at “Chuzenji Onsen” bus stop. It is an approximate 50-minute ride, and then walk about 5 minutes to Kegon Falls.

Sigue el Koyo!
Los mejores colores de otoño ya están en Nikko!
En post anteriores les hablamos sobre Okunikko, Yumoto onsen, etc… Ahora es el momento ideal para visitar el area de Chuzenji, pero también existe una muy buena opción para disfrutar los maravillosos colores: Kirifuri. Su naturaleza y la impactante catarata de 75 metros de altura ofrecen un espectáculo inolvidable.
Para llegar, tomar el autobus Tobu con dirección a Kirifuri Kogen desde las estaciones JR Nikko o Tobu Nikko, y bajarse en Kirifuri no Taki.
Koyo – Autumn Leaves in Nikko
Have you seen the Autumn leaves in Japan? Nikko is the perfect place! The amazing colors, the stunning scenary of the National Park… you cannot miss it!
Right now, you should visit Iroha Slope and Chuzenji Lake and its surroundings. Just remember to arrive early to avoid traffic, specially on the weekend.
Kōyō – Autumn Foliage
Koyo, the beautiful autumn foliage, is now peaking in Nikko.
If you are around the area, we highly recommend that you visit Oku-Nikko for amazing views. Right now Ryuzu Waterfall is specially beautiful. From JR or Tobu Nikko Station, take the Tobu bus for Yumoto Onsen and get off at stop 38, one after Ryuzu no taki. From the bridge over Yukawa River (right next to the bus stop) you will be able to enjoy the impressive view. Then keep walking following the river downstream for about 300 meters and you will get to Ryuzu Waterfall. There’s a souvenier shop and a local restaurant with a deck with an amazing view, perfect to enjoy a warm dish after the walk!
Nikko Toshogu Shrine Autumn Grand Festival
If you missed it in May, you should see it this time!
In the biggest festival in Nikko area, visitors can see various breathtaking rituals such as yabusame ritual in which riders on horsebacks shoot targets with arrows, as well as “Hyakumonozoroe Sennin Musha Gyoretsu,” a parade of 1000 people in samurai warrior outfits.

Muchos conocen Japón por sus cerezos en flor en primavera, pero los colores de otoño son igualmente maravillosos!
En esta época, el paisaje cambia de verde a diferentes tonalidades de amarillo, marrón y rojo. Y Nikko es uno de los mejores lugares para disfrutar este espectáculo de la naturaleza.
La fecha puede modificarse año a año dependiendo de la temperatura, pero se espera que el pico de esta temporada sea desde mediados de octubre hasta principios de noviembre.
