A tan sólo 10 minutos caminando desde la estación de Tobu Nikko se encuentra Akinoya, un restaurant de Yakisoba (fideos fritos).
El personal es muy amable y la comida es deliciosa. Cuentan con algunos platos para vegetarianos, menú especial al mediodía y también venden para llevar. Todo eso lo hace un lugar muy recomendable!

Monkey Ningyoyaki at Mishimaya
You may know the famous ‘See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil’ Three Wise Monkeys sculptures at Toshogu Shrine in Nikko. At Mishiyama, just a few minutes away from Tobu Nikko Station, you can find these cute monkeys made of delicious baked dough, filled with sweet bean paste.
They also sell other shapes of Nikko popular things and places, such as Toshogu or the Sleeping Cat. It’s the perfect souvenir! (Just remember to eat them within 3 days after buying them)

Sakaeya Fried Yuba Manju
Sakaeya is right across Tobu Nikko Station, and it sells their original Ageyubamanju that can only be found at their shop.
This delicious product is a bun filled with anko (red bean) paste, wrapped in yuba (tofu skin), fried, and finally salt-topped. This sweet and savory combination may seem unusual, but it’s uniquely tasty. And only 200 yen a piece!

Have you ever tried yuba (soy milk skin)? Then how about yuba burger?
Really near Toshogu you will find Maruhide. Even though it may not look super fancy from the outside, you will find this restaurant very appealing. Try their yuba burger in any of the 2 options offered -fried or teriyaki style-, delicious and vegetarian friendly! You can also enjoy their famous tomato yuba ramen, or any of the many dishes served.
Friendly staff, plenty amount of tables and menu in English with pictures make it a good option for a lunch break.

If you’re in Nikko and would like to try something sweet but not sure where to find vegan desserts, you have to visit Yuzawaya!
Their mizu-youkan sundae is delicious: made of sweet soft aduki bean jelly and soy milk ice cream, it’s great to eat after lunch or as a refreshing power snack after a day walking around Nikko.
They also serve different desserts for everyone to taste, like their popular sake manju created 200 years ago.
You can enjoy all this in the cafe right next to their shop.
